Santiago de Cuba, July 9 (ACN) After a week of intense cultural, academic and religious activity, participants in 41. Fire Festivalwhich was developed from July 3 until today here, this edition has been classified as a success, the first after COVID-19.
Marked by the visit of Miguel Diaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, to Casa del Caribe, the institution that organizes the festival, and the presence of Dr. José Angel Portal on the opening day of the Minister of Public Health, the event brought the vitality of the Caribbean back to the streets of Santiago de Cuba, two years later isolation due to the pandemic.
Mater El-Adawy, Egypt’s ambassador to the island, pointed out that the event became a space for unity among the peoples of the region and the discovery of the cultural potential of this southeastern region, especially the city of heroes.

During the usual closing parade across the central Aguilera Street of this city, members 31. With the symbolic burning of the devil, which took place on the promenade of La Alameda – so close to the Indomitable Bay – the highest authorities of the province and the people of Santiago bid farewell to this event, dedicated to four decades of Casa del Caribe and 40 and 30 years of Turquino Septet and Macubá Theater Study Group, Straight.
Also in attendance at the festival were the scientists who made the COVID-19 vaccines that saved Cuba from disease and during the Serpent Parade, on July 5, the Casa del Caribe 2022 International Prize was awarded to Eduardo Martinez, President of BioCubaFarma, in recognition of the work carried out in the last two years of life battle.
About 400 national artists, 18 transport groups, and 207 foreigners from Puerto Rico, Mexico, Germany, Venezuela, Suriname, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Saint Martin and Egypt, among others, participated in the fire festival.
