Ten years ago I started directing and presenting the entrepreneurship program on TVE. It was the time of the gold rush. In Spain, who was not an entrepreneur, it was an epidemic. You have to be an entrepreneur, yes or no.
The truth is that I have always been politically incorrect on these issues. I would not encourage anyone to do this if they did not have certain or many guarantees.
Yes I know. Steve Jobs went all out. It’s also true that he didn’t go to class in college and doesn’t seem like he had anything better to do than find Apple. There are many other examples of achievers who have successfully jumped into a puddle.
But for each of those we can cite hundreds of thousands of other people, who jumped into the pool without even thinking about it because some know-it-all encouraged them to do so. They left everything to fulfill their dream, despite the fact that they had five children and with their partner’s salary they could not make ends meet.
The raw truth
Dream continued sigh. Just like the money they borrowed from the bank that mortgaged their house and which they are now about to lose because of their bad mind.
I’ve always said you have to make guarantees. If you are going to jump into the pool, you have to be clear about many things.
First of all, make sure that the pool has water, lest you hit the bottom and kill yourself. Second, make sure it has enough water, so you don’t hit the bottom and become paralyzed. And thirdly, make sure that you learned to swim in your childhood, lest you drown.
Once you have those guarantees, you can jump into the pool, making sure you might drown, but at least you’ll have put in the means to try to avoid it.
If more than ninety percent of the companies we set up in Spain have disappeared in less than three years, what makes you think your company will survive? Yes, that’s right, you have more intelligence and wisdom than others. This works for me, but not with the market.
Debts
I never give advice to entrepreneurs, see what they ask of me. Only my children, who do not ask for them, do not want them, and do not care about me the slightest.
For entrepreneurs, yes, I tell them that if they are going to get into debt, maybe they can get into debt in amounts they can afford. Don’t let this debt make you bitter and ruin your life forever.
children’s weight
that they don’t spend the money their parents had for their retirement because they have a brilliant idea that will make them millionaires (rhinos are rare, that’s exactly why they are unicorns and we’re all looking for them), that they think twice before quitting their job to follow their great and crazy idea if they have a family behind them .
If they don’t have responsibilities, it’s different. In this case, I would even recommend pursuing your dream. They will not harm anyone but themselves, and if they succeed, this should not be excluded, it is perfect.
If they fail, you can always feed yourself a crust of bread, even if it is stale.
And you also learn from failure, don’t forget that.
