Miami, September 28 (EFE). Puerto Rican artist Qian announced Wednesday in Miami the release of his first album after an eight-year hiatus, revealing that his daughter Isadora is preparing to follow in his footsteps in music.
“We’re almost ready, I hope (the album) comes out in the early months of 2023,” said the singer, who will receive the “Icon” award Thursday at the Latin Billboard Awards for his 44-year career.
“I started in this business when I was very young and thanks to my fans and their children and even their grandchildren, I’m still in it. It all makes me so grateful,” Chian, 54, said during a session at Billboard Latin Music Week.
The thing that gives him a special “pleasure” is his ability to “watch” the evolution of Latin music. What excites him most at the moment is “the enormous talent of the youth”.
Among those young people is his daughter Isadora, 21, who this year graduated with a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Miami. “I really need her graduation so we can work together,” he said proudly.
“I can’t wait for him to release the music he’s making,” Chayanne admitted. He explained that his “girl” composes, produces, arranges and sings.
In addition, the young woman is responsible for her own social networks. “She’s the one who publishes my stuff,” he said.
Among the things Isadora uploaded on Chayanne’s social networks was the announcement of “Como tú yo”, the second single from the Puerto Rican artist’s new album, which was written by Venezuelan Servando Primera and produced by Motiff.
The song will be released Thursday and Cheyenne will sing it on stage at the Latin Billboard Awards, which will air on Telemundo and Telemundo Internacional from Miami.
It is a kind of romantic meringue, in which Cheyenne danced on the conference platform, unleashing the cries of the women present.
The artist admitted that he was “tense and anxious” in front of his session, because it was very important for him “not to be disappointed, to live up to” what is expected of him.
It’s the same reason he won’t tour until the end of 2023, as it takes at least eight months of physical preparation and more design and logistical planning.
“Every time I arrive in any Spanish speaking country they greet me as if it were my home and this affection deserves my greatest dedication and my best,” he said. EFE
