Guillermo “Mito” Pereira ended his participation very well At Shriners Children’s Open Hospitalsin Nevada, he finished fourth with a -20, placing himself just four strokes behind Korean champ Tom Kim.
The last day of the National Competition was not as good as the day before, but it worked to put the good finishing touches to a great tournament. In the first part of the day, Pereira started with a bogey on hole 3, something he repeated on hole 8, but was able to recover with two birds on the 4th, 6th, 7th and 9th flags.
Although he started the second part of the day with another bogey on the 11th hole, he focused quickly and on pins 15, 16 and 18 scored a birdie that made him finish the day with a -4.
If we go back to Saturday, the day went smoothly for the Creole, who was only able to score with his first jumper on the seventh hole, something he also repeated on the ninth. Then the patriot scored two flies on the 14th and 16th flags, which allowed him to chase the leaders again, and took third place.
It must be remembered that during Fridays, Mito had dedicated shots, such as the five birds at the 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, and a double at the seventh pennant, achieving an impressive -8 card, added to the other four birds in the inning.
