Apple prefers to maintain the differentiation of its products even though the iPads and MacBooks are increasingly similar. Now that they use the same M-series processors and the operating system is practically identical, the only thing that sets them apart is the touch screen. Because if the rumors are true, there will be an iPad with a 16-inch (41 cm) screen, like the MacBook Pro, for the fourth quarter of 2023, further blurring the difference between the two production lines.
The largest iPad model right now is the 12.9-inch (33 cm) model, which was introduced last week. It’s a tool that appeals to creators by being able to use the stylus with it, and the 16-inch model can attract the attention of those who do more mixed work, so the 33cm screen of the current model is too small for them. If it includes a small LED display, it may be a particularly expensive model.
There have been rumors that Apple might be developing other iPad models with mid-size screens, specifically 14.1 inches (36 cm), but given the company’s diversity, at least the rumors don’t seem too far fetched.
