We bring a strange message related to one of the most beloved franchises by fans Nintendo. It is actually about Super Mario.
As we learned, Nintendo Hong Kong has announced official name changes for several Chinese-language Super Mario characters. It comes to Donkey Kong, Peach and Daisywhich would be named differently with the goal of their new names being “closer to the pronunciation of the characters’ original names”.
This is expected to be related to the premiere of Super Mario movie, although nothing has been confirmed. We’ll have to pay attention to more details.

Donkey Kong 森 喜 刚 -> 咚 奇 刚
peach 桃花 -> 碧姬

This is the first time that Nintendo has officially announced a local name change in the Chinese language region, with previous changes analyzed informally by players.
