The CRIS Cancer Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit entity that has become the authority on cancer research and its goal is to find effective therapies against this disease that is a global public health problem. One in three women and one in two men will develop cancer throughout their lives and it is the second leading cause of death in the world, as more and more tumors are diagnosed in young people – children and adolescents.
Deutsche Bank Spain will make an initial donation to this NGO and, through its CSR Forum, will carry out fundraising activities among its employees during the period 2023-2024, within the framework of its CSR strategy. Specifically, Deutsche Bank will allocate funds to the CRIS unit for advanced pediatric cancer treatments at La Paz University Hospital in Madrid.
The CRIS Foundation funds cancer research and treatment units located in the large public hospitals of the National Health System. In these units, new therapies are investigated and world-leading clinical trials are conducted so that cancer patients who do not respond to conventional therapies, such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy, have other options. In CRIS units, multidisciplinary teams create interrelated research projects to search for treatments for childhood cancers and more aggressive adult cancers.
