A person driving a pickup truck crashes into a mobile home in North Lauderdale, injuring a teenage girl who was sleeping inside.
The impact occurred around 4:30 am. It was reported that this Sunday near Northwest 44th Street and 57th Street while a family was sleeping indoors local news 10.
“Everyone heard a loud crash into the truck,” said Carlos Miron, who was asleep when the accident occurred. “I myself woke up to my mother’s screams.”
Broward Sheriff’s Office first responders rushed to the scene and found the truck embedded in the mobile home.
The man said, “My sister is sleeping in the corner where the truck crashed. The truck took the whole bed and fell in the kitchen.”
His sister was taken to a local hospital, but has since returned home with slight back pain.
“We are all fine,” Miron said. “The important thing is that my sister is fine and that’s the only thing that really matters to me.”
As the sun rose, the truck towed the car, revealing the damage to the house.
The mobile home had a large hole in the bottom of the bedroom window, and the corner was shattered.
It was not clear what caused the accident and authorities did not say if the driver would be charged with any crime.
The American Red Cross is helping the family find a place to stay.
