At IFA 2023, Europe’s largest consumer show held in Berlin, Germany, Samsung Electronics highlighted its vision for the future of home living, driven by the company’s cutting-edge devices and pioneering bespoke products.
Senior figures from Samsung and partner companies explained Samsung’s plans to drive positive change through extraordinary innovation, impacting the lives of users as well as the world around them.
Benjamin Brown, Marketing Director, Samsung Europe, discusses some of the company’s key innovations that have changed the status quo and shaped technological evolution. Samsung emphasized its commitment to fearlessly pioneering new initiatives, demonstrating its position as a leader in this sector.

In an ever-changing world, Brown emphasized how Samsung has actively listened to consumers over the years and created products that meet their needs and add value to their lives. In continuation of this pursuit, Samsung has shifted its focus towards developing devices and devices that empower users on a global scale and contribute to creating a more sustainable future.
Improving life
With climate change in the spotlight, Samsung highlighted the company’s ongoing commitment to reducing its environmental impact and prioritizing climate-positive solutions, addressing the goals set in its new environmental strategy announced in September. 2022. The Less Microfiber™ filter is a great example of Samsung’s holistic approach to sustainable product development: providing consumers with solutions that help them live green with minimal effort. In line with this vision, Samsung continues to supply its Galaxy devices with internal and external components made from recycled materials, as well as creating product packaging that uses 100% recycled paper.
As climate change creates new challenges for people around the world, forward-thinking solutions are becoming increasingly necessary. To respond to the global energy shortage and promote the transition to clean energy, Samsung has emphasized its efforts in developing heat pump technology and leading the fast-growing market in Europe.
Likewise, the company highlighted how its SmartThings home ecosystem uses technologies to help more than 280 million registered users save energy. Harnessing the power of AI across its entire line of dedicated devices, Samsung’s AI Energy mode optimizes devices’ energy usage, reducing unnecessary energy waste and costly energy bills.
Transform homes with powerful solutions
In addition to helping the planet, Samsung showcased its latest products that add value to consumers’ lives. Zeena Hill, Marketing Director, Samsung UK, announced the launch of Samsung Food, a new AI-powered app that gives users access to thousands of recipes. Samsung plans to connect Samsung Food with Samsung Health by the end of this year, allowing users to better track their health and nutritional goals.
Samsung is revamping the home entertainment system and putting users at the center of the action with its new launches, such as the 98-inch Neo QLED 8K TV. Samsung TVs offer unparalleled picture quality in stylish shapes, and the company continues to release unique styles and designs to meet the typical needs of every user. As such, Samsung has partnered with Disney to launch The Frame-Disney100 Edition, a special limited edition of The Frame TV for Disney fans.
In turn, the company introduced the Odyssey Neo G9 gaming monitor and the second generation Freestyle portable projector: ideal devices for gamers who want to expand their field of vision so as not to miss any moment of the game. Users can experience games like Starfield, the new action RPG from Bethesda Game Studios, in stunning detail on Samsung TVs and monitors. Florian Leuer, Senior Director of International Game Marketing at Microsoft, spoke about the partnership between the two companies to expand the Samsung Gaming Hub and highlighted how Samsung technology delivers the best gaming experience.
“Together with Samsung, we are forging a path that aligns with Xbox’s vision for the future of gaming: reaching more players with great content,” said Lieuer.
Samsung has detailed the ways in which it helps users stay connected to the world around them. The company reiterated its commitment to ensuring that its devices and products meet the needs of different consumers and mentioned how its latest accessibility features help as many users as possible. This includes TalkBack for Devices and Services, which reads content from devices and services on SmartThings, and Relumino Mode, which optimizes content on Samsung TVs for the visually impaired.
Future possibilities thanks to technology
Partnerships have helped make some of Samsung’s technologies possible and, more broadly, brought the company closer to realizing its vision of a better future. In line with its goal of improving life at home, Samsung has partnered with electric vehicle charger manufacturer ABB and residential inverter brand SMA to collaborate on changing the way homes are built.
“By integrating Samsung products with ABB and SMA products, we can help make our homes safer, smarter and more sustainable,” said Lu Han, executive vice president of Building Solutions and Home Automation at ABB.
Looking to the future, Samsung sees the value of future technologies and the limitless applications they can bring to consumers’ lives. With new projects such as 6G deployment, expanding AI capabilities, and more, the company remains excited and optimistic as it explores the amazing potential of the technology. Brown concluded the conference by saying that Samsung will continue to improve users’ lives by listening to their needs.
“With the help of 6G, AI, XR, augmented reality, mixed reality and artificial intelligence, we will make great strides in everything from healthcare to entertainment to remote work,” he said.
