How did the playoff draw go?
Road C
No lottery, assured assignment.
The C League track consists of three Group C winners, Georgia, Greece and Kazakhstan, plus Group C runner-up Luxembourg. There was no draw and the C track semi-finals were decided as follows:
to. Semi-final 1: Georgia – Luxembourg
B. Second semi-final: Greece – Kazakhstan
Road B
A draw between the runners-up in the second division: Finland, Ukraine and Iceland.
The B League track consists of two of the group winners of League B, Israel and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as two of the three Group B runners-up who entered the draw: Finland, Ukraine and Iceland.
Israel, as the best seed in the group, was the host of Semi-Final 1, and Bosnia and Herzegovina will host Semi-Final 2. To determine which two teams will join the first League B group on Road B, a draw is held starting with one bass drum containing three balls representing Finland Ukraine and Iceland.
• The first ball is drawn.
– If the team that comes out in first place is Finland, they are assigned to Semi-Final 2.
– If the team that comes out first is Iceland, they are assigned to Semi-Final 1.
– If the team eliminated first is Ukraine, no team can be assigned to Semi-Final 1 or 2 until the second ball is drawn.
• The second ball is drawn.
– If the team that came in second place is Finland, they are assigned to Semi-Final 2.
– If the team that came in second place is Iceland, they are assigned to Semi-Final 1.
– If the second drawn ball is Ukraine, the team will advance to the semi-finals (1) if the first team drawn is Finland, or to the semi-finals (2) if the first team drawn is Iceland.
The semi-finals of Track B were determined based on the result of the draw as follows:
to. Semi-final 1: Israel – Ukraine / Iceland
B. Semi-final 2: Bosnia and Herzegovina – Finland / Ukraine
Route A
The remaining B League team completed the route.
The third and final ball was drawn and the team was assigned to Road A to occupy the last free spot in the pot.
The ‘A’ League route consists of the two teams from League ‘A’ that entered the draw, Poland and Wales, the two teams from League ‘B’ that exited in third place (Finland, Ukraine or Iceland) and Estonia, from League ‘D’. A draw was required and the semi-finals of Track A were determined as follows:
to. Semi-Final 1: Poland – Estonia
B. Second semi-final: Wales – Finland / Ukraine / Iceland
How were the playoff finals divided?
Three draws were held to determine which semi-final pair in each match would be eligible to host the final.
Once the semi-final in question has been played, the winner of that match will certainly face the winner of the other semi-final at home.
For each track, two balls were prepared representing each semi-final pairing: Semi-Final 1 and Semi-Final 2.
Road C
The first ball determines the winner of the Road C semi-final who will host the final. The second drawn ball is shown to complete the Road C draw.
Routes B and A
The draw continued on Road B and concluded on Road A in the same manner.
