Cuba is making progress despite the US blockade

In this regard, he noted that for nearly 17 years a group of specialists from his country have been providing services in Uruguay at the José Martí Eye Hospital, with thousands of ophthalmology operations to their credit.

He asked: If we are a failed state, how can we help other countries in battles such as Ebola or Covid-19?

He added that the same applies to vaccines developed by Cuban experts against the Corona virus, and a medicine to prevent diabetic foot amputation, among other scientific developments for the benefit of health at the international level.

Zolan Buba stressed that the island, surrounded by the planet’s largest power, was the first country to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV. He stressed that Cuba shares knowledge.

There is cruelty against the Cuban people. He added that during the epidemic, the United States prevented Cuba from purchasing ventilators and obtaining oxygen to treat its patients.
