More than a thousand people flocked to Fiscal Gym in Puerto Varas to enjoy the national team’s preparation tour for the 2023 Pan American Games.
They secured their sixth consecutive series win against New Zealand as they aim to compete for a medal at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.
Eduardo Carmona, director of DIDECO, says that the public’s response was successful and, as explained by officials of the Chilean Volleyball Federation and the municipality, this reception positions Puerto Varas as an attractive destination for future high-level sporting events. “These are the teams that are going to play the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games and being in our commune decentralizes and diversifies the management of sports. That’s why we brought volleyball, before that there was a hockey team, because we want Puerto Varas to be the sports capital of southern Chile, this event responds to that, and we are very grateful to the community of Puerto Varas who responded in large numbers to see this wonderful sports event,” said the director of DIDECO.
More than a thousand people in the stands shook the meeting at the Fiscal Gymnasium, and more than 500 followed the broadcast by streaming on the social networks of the municipality of Puerto Varas, which Jorge Pino, president of the Chilean Volleyball Federation, puts Puerto Varas on the map of future events for his organization.
“The fact that we’re here and that the Puerto Varas family has responded, that the game is anchored in this area, and for us as a federation, the diversification of the game is a central principle, and I think most likely we’ll return with the women’s team.” The president of the federation said.
The match ended 24-14 / 21-25 / 25-23 / 28-26 in favor of Chile and the Reds won the support and love of the Puerto Rican public in preparation for the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.
