In addition, 101 deaths were reported in health institutions and 54 more at the community level, including deaths from the National Prison, which is the largest prison in Haiti located in this capital.

Eight of the 10 counties are affected by the disease, although the West still has the highest number of cases so far.

In that department, 3,344 suspected cases were reported in the municipality of Port-au-Prince, 1,470 in Cité Soleil, 875 in Carrefour, 541 in Pétion-Ville, 176 in Tabaré, 146 in Croix-de-Bouquet and 102 in Petite. – Goâve. , 54 in Ganthier and 48 in Kenscoff.

Fils pointed out that children from one to four years of age constitute the most registered age group, followed by young people from 20 to 29 years old.

The outbreak revived old wounds in the Caribbean nation that was affected by the disease in 2010 and as a result around 10,000 people died and more than 800,000 were infected.
