With one week to go until the first pitch of Group B of the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup, World No. 3 Canada and No. 10 New Zealand will compete in the International Softball Super Series at Bob Van Impe Stadium in Saskatoon.
Hosted by the Saskatoon Amateur Softball Association, the International Softball Super Series features six teams, including the Canadian and New Zealand national teams, and four club teams: the Hill United Chiefs, New York Gremlins, Saskatoon Jacks and Saskatoon Angels.
The matches will start on Thursday 4th July and the final will be held on Sunday 7th July. New Zealand and Canada clash on Friday, July 5 at 6:15 pm local time. Look at the calendar.
Saskatoon, the capital of Saskatchewan, is 138 kilometers from Prince Albert at Bob Van Impe Stadium in Saskatoon, which hosted the 2009 and 2015 WBSC Men’s Softball World Cups.
Teams Canada and New Zealand will open Group B of the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup on July 10 in Prince Albert, facing 24th-ranked Hong Kong, China and 11th-ranked Singapore, respectively. World No. 1 Argentina and No. 16 Israel round out the participating teams.
New Zealand’s roster features 11 players from the past 2022 World Cup, as well as the return of former players Tyron Bartorillo, Nick Hayes and Wayne Lalu, who helped the Black Sox win their last World Championship in 2017. Other World Cup players include Cole Evans. , Ben Enoch and Thomas Enoch.
Earlier this year, Canada fielded eight athletes Key players selected for Group B of WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup.
