BUENOS AIRES, JUNE 18 (PRENSA LATINA) Argentine President Alberto Fernandez today emphasized the importance of the Nestor Kirchner gas pipeline to replace exports and assured that he will continue to work towards the economic recovery of this country.

According to official data, this work will begin in June 2023, its length will be 558 km, and its construction will be in two stages.

The first phase includes the section between the town of Trataine in Neuquén and Salicello in the province of Buenos Aires, while the second phase is due to reach San Jerónimo in Santa Fe.

Its entry into operation will increase hydrocarbon transport capacity by 24 million cubic meters per day.

In an interview with Radio 10, the President indicated that the bidding process is continuing, expressing his wishes for the expeditious completion of the project.

That would prevent us from having to import gas from other parts of the world, and we would be able to be self-sufficient, he said.

On the other hand, he indicated that he will make the necessary efforts to prevent those who owe to this nation from returning to power, referring to the administration of his predecessor Mauricio Macri (2015-2019).

He emphasized that there is data showing that despite the Covid-19 and Macri pandemic, there is another way to practice politics so that people live better.

In this sense, he noted that during the intervening years of his government, 45,000 homes were delivered throughout the country, new jobs were created, real wages were restored, and the national economy grew.
