Acting Prime Minister of the Bahamas, Chester Cooper, said, “This is a good message that we have not been significantly affected in terms of our infrastructure, but the message remains that since Dorian there has not been enough investment in infrastructure and we need to focus on really restoring (the port of) Abaco. “.
Cooper stressed that the country does not result in “loss of life and no serious injuries,” noting that some floods occurred in the port. “The water went over maybe about a foot, a foot and a half, and that’s the kind of thing we’re seeing right now happening during this particular storm,” he said.

Cooper stressed that some flooding will occur at Abaco Harbor and Leonard M. Thompson International Airport, a forecast that was expected due to the rain and waves caused by Nicole.
Cooper noted that some Green Turtle Cay entities are still without electricity, but the nation endorses openness to tourism and does not envision a decline in the sector.
“Tourism is strong. Tourism will remain strong. We know many tourists haven’t left. They figured this is just a tropical storm and stuck with it. It worked out well for them and for tourism.”
