Benton Resources is getting more high-grade copper results at its Great Burnt project

Must Read

Benton is currently focused on developing its high-grade Great Burnt copper-gold project in central Newfoundland.

The company has confirmed excellent potential north of its main Great Burnt depot.

Benton Resources Inc. announced It has received assays from the last five drill holes for the first phase of the fall drilling program at the Great Burnt Copper deposit, located in south-central Newfoundland.

The last five holes (GB-23-18 to GB-23-22) were drilled in the middle and upper part of the deposit and gave exceptional results that confirm and significantly improve the historical data. The most notable of these wells include:

  • Hole GB-23-18 cut 4.22% copper over 8.17 m, including 7.05% copper over 4.17 m.
  • Hole GB-23-20 cut 3.05% copper over a distance of 17.12 m, including 11.11% copper over a distance of 1.85 m.
  • Hole GB-23-21 cut 5.81% copper over a distance of 24.00 m, including 11.47% copper over a distance of 7.00 m.
  • Hole GB-23-22 cut 3.59% copper over a distance of 21.68 m, including 15.30% copper over a distance of 2.00 m.

Benton's Phase 1 drilling at the Great Burnt has achieved significant success by expanding the previously defined boundaries of the deposit through expansion drilling and increasing the grade and width of the deposit through drilling and duplexing.

With these latest results, the company is very optimistic that the current mineral resources can be significantly improved. Additional drilling is being planned and will begin this winter.

The Company is encouraged by the results of these recent drilling operations and its plans to conduct additional deposit testing, both within the existing mineral resource area and by expanding the deposit downstream and along strike during the Phase II program.

“This was the most successful drilling campaign in our company’s history, achieving exceptional grades and thicknesses,” said President and CEO Stephen Starrs.

“Our team is excited about the future of this excellent project and our ability to expand the deposit.” Caliber Mining Corp.’s Valentine Gold Project and New Found Gold Corp.’s Keats discovery are excellent counterparts to historically unexplored projects in Newfoundland that now host significant resources resulting from the completion of the work required to unearth Its size and real value.” He commented.

Stares added that the Burnt project will similarly benefit as this highly anticipated project moves forward.
