LA PAZ, Oct 19 (Prensa Latina) From today until the end of the month, the Bolivian authorities will apply a third booster dose against COVID-19 to all residents of the country, given the possibility of a fourth wave of the infectious disease.
The Minister of Health and Sports, Jason Oza, announced the day before to the press that the process includes those who wish to receive the booster portion, which had previously only been applied to people over the age of 60 with underlying diseases.
He expressed that the requirement to receive the vaccine will be the lapse of two months since the imposition of the second dose of immunity.
The title said: We call on all residents, especially those who have been at risk, and called for a third injection to be given to the press and health personnel who have adhered to this principle.
Oza referred to published scientific studies that reveal the effectiveness of a third vaccine against the Corona virus, by significantly raising the levels of defense in the body.
The owner said the country has more than 14 million antigens and so far just over 7.1 million have been used across the national territory.
Coverage with the first dose reached 61.5 percent of the population on Monday, while the second dose reached 50.2 in a full scheme, while the day began to immunize young people aged 16-17, which complements the national vaccination plan.
Since March of last year, Bolivia has reported 506,654 people infected with the COVID-19 virus, of whom 18,881 are still active, and the cumulative death toll has reached 18,834, according to certified sources.
