Rio de Janeiro, August 13 (EFE). Singer Anita, the queen of pop music in Brazil and one of Latin America’s best-selling urban music translators, released a video on Friday in which she appeared posing in front of a wax statue. She will be honored starting next year at Madame Tussauds in New York.
“I am very honored. I can’t wait to see my wax statue at Madame Tussauds in New York,” said the 28-year-old famous singer, who features on the list of the 15 most influential musicians on social media. Billboard, in a post on his Twitter account.
The artist, who has millions of followers on networks such as Instagram, shared on Twitter a video and some photos of her taking pictures of her wax statue.
The statue will be made in London, where Madame Tussauds is based, but will remain on display at the museum’s headquarters in New York from next year.
Among the other Brazilians who already have wax statues at Madame Tussauds, footballer Neymar, whose character was displayed at the Orlando headquarters, and international model Alessandra Ambrosio, with her husband in New York, stand out.
According to the singer’s advice, about 20 artists in London will work on the production of the statue, which should be ready in about six months, when it is sent to New York.
The singer, who is currently recording a studio album with songs in Portuguese, Spanish and English, was nominated for Best Urban Music Album at this year’s Latin Grammy Awards for her latest production, “Kisses.”
This year, her single “Girl From Rio” allowed her to be among the most listened to in the top 40 of American radio broadcasts in the United States. EFE
