Buenos Aires, Aug. 11 (EFE). – The S&P Merval index of shares of leading companies listed on the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange closed on Friday, up 1.56%, to 477,726.36 points.
Meanwhile, the S&P BYMA General Index ended the round at 20,179,325.21 units, down by 1.32%.
The share turnover was 9,523 million pesos (about $33.1 million / 30.2 million euros), with a balance of 47 increases, 19 decreases and three unchanged sheets in the overall board.
Among the leading companies, the shares that rose the most were Ternium (8.49%), Bolas y Mercados Argentinos (4.82%) and Pampa Energía (4.58%).
On the contrary, shares of Telecom Argentina (-1.79%), Grupo Financiero Galicia (-1.44%) and Banco Macro (-1.43%) closed in negative territory.
The Argentine Country Risk Index settled at 1,915 basis points and in the official foreign exchange market, the US dollar rose by 2.5 pesos in the state-owned Bancón Nacion, closing at a maximum of 285.50 pesos for buying and 298.50 pesos for buying. selling to the public, while the wholesale market closed at 287.35 pesos per unit.
In the unofficial market, the US currency continues to set new historical records by reaching 605 pesos per unit offered for sale, while the so-called financial dollars today operate with a positive trend.
Dollar “computed liquidation” (CCL, which consists of buying stocks or bonds locally in Argentine pesos and selling them for dollars on Wall Street) rose 0.5% to 601.44 pesos a unit.
The “dollar bag” or “US dollar” (which is obtained by buying assets listed in pesos and dollars, which are paid in pesos when bought and sold in dollars on the Argentine stock market) rose 1.9%, at 539.89 pesos a unit. EFE
