The reason was the technical aspect on the floor of the two cars, which was not within the regulatory standards, and thus the result was modified.
Now third place in the race goes to Carlos Sainz from the Italian team and Sergio “Chico” Perez Benefits from climbing to fourth place.
The Mexican’s benefit is twofold, because by excluding Englishman Lewis Hamilton, the points he gained that brought him closer to the Mexican in the fight for drivers’ runner-up are cancelled. Chico’s score rose to 240 points, and Hamilton will remain with 201 points.
