Colombian filmography shown in Cuban cinemas

HAVANA, Oct 4 (Prinsa Latina) Today a sampling of contemporary Colombian films has become part of this capital’s movie calendar, aiming to bring the South American nation’s seventh art closer to the island audience.

According to the Cuban Institute of Arts and Film Industry (Icaic), the course will take place from October 5 to 13 in rooms 23 and 12 and Glauber Rocha of the Foundation for New Latin American Cinema.

The digital social networking portal of Cubacine, the publishing platform of ICAIC, shows that the selection includes approximately ten films, while six issues of the ICAIC Newsletter for Latin America will appear on screen.

The exhibition, organized with the support of the Colombian Embassy in Havana, highlights the film responsible for operating the projectors, Club Los Ajenos Fútbol, ​​directed by Juan Camilo Pinzon Gómez (2016).

Keyla films by Viviana Gómez Echeverry are also included; Knights of Heaven, composed by Talia Osorio Cardona; The Stone by Rafael Martinez Moreno; Jericho, by Catalina Mesa and the Dragon’s Defense, by Natalia Santa.

Closing the screenings, the feature film “Mama” by Philipp van Heisenhoven, which delves into the relationship between three generations of women linked to the energy of a house girl, is booked.

The summary reads: “Victoria receives her daughter Sarah, who asks her to look after her daughter despite not talking to each other for a while, a service that will change the lady’s quiet life while promoting reconciliation.”
