CONMEBOL recognizes the legends track and registered with CONMEBOL Libertadores

The South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) on Saturday, October 29, paid tribute to the great players who left their mark and made history in the CONMEBOL Libertadores.

The honor was presided over by CONMEBOL President Alejandro Dominguez, who recognized the legacy of epic goalscorers such as Raul Vicente Amarilla, the competition’s top scorer in 1989 and champion in 1990 with Club Olimpia of Paraguay.

Along with the former Paraguayan striker, Ever goalkeeper Hugo Almeida, who scored the most matches in the competition with 133 matches, striker Adriano Samaniego, the striker with the most goals in the 1990s where he was champion, also got the distinction.

A very special moment passed by the family of the competition’s historical scorer, Alberto Spencer, who received the award in honor of the Ecuadorian striker, who scored 54 goals during the sessions in which he competed and won in 1960, 1961. and 1966.
