The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez wished the greatest success of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (PCCH), on the occasion of the celebration of its 20th Congress.

On Twitter, the Cuban head of state declared his conviction “that his results will be a new impetus for progressive forces around the world.”

He also reiterated that “inter-party relations will continue to be a pillar and an essential component of Cuba-China relations, by providing political identity, and a strong will to further strengthen the special relations of friendship and cooperation.”

The PCC thanked the Palestinian Palestinian Council for its unwavering support for Cuba’s struggle against the blockade, and endorsed its consistent stance of upholding the one-China principle.

The party’s national convention convenes every five years, this time bringing together 2,296 delegates – on behalf of 96 million fighters – who will begin the process of electing the country’s highest authorities and setting the party’s political and ideological guidelines.
