Puerto Rican Tourism, CTPR, CEO, Carlos Mercado Santiago, announced today that effective December 17, 2022, Delta Air Lines will increase its services to Luis Muñoz Marine International Airport, beginning direct flights from the cities of Boston, Massachusetts. and Detroit, Michigan.
These new flights represent more than 25,000 additional seats and an estimated economic impact of more than $18 million between December 2022 and April 2023.
For CTPR, diversifying and expanding air access is a priority in the midst of a leftover operating environment due to staff shortages and increased competition between destinations. Service from Detroit and Boston to San Juan will be available starting December 17.
The new line between Boston Logan International Airport and San Juan will have one daily flight frequency until April 23, 2023.
The flight will resume from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, one of the airline’s main hubs, on a weekly basis every Saturday through April 8.

The company will use a B739 aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers on both routes. Routes add to existing services from Atlanta, New York JFK, and Minneapolis.
