This was resolved yesterday by the signing of a decree by Governor Omar Gutierrez, Minister of Health Andrea Biffi and Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Rafael Ponce.

By decree, Governor Omar Gutierrez created the Directorate General for Gender Equality and Diversity in the Neuquen County Department of Health, which will report directly to the undersecretary of said health department. Through it, the creation of four positions for the operation of the new direction is also enabled. The goal is to form a multidisciplinary team that develops public policies, programs and actions that enable the integration of a gender equality and equity perspective into the public health system, in order to improve people’s quality of life.

This action is carried out within the framework of the implementation of public policies that lead to improvements and the strengthening of the public health system, in order to eliminate social inequalities, with health services reaching all Neuquen men and women.

Health Minister Andrea Bevey highlighted the following: “As part of the governor’s commitment to generating public policies from a gender perspective and within the framework of Women’s Month, incorporating this new trend is not only episodic, but part of the work we have been doing and will continue to do in order to reduce The gaps in women’s care and the diversity we have in health, that’s our north.”

The decree provides for the creation of the position of Central Level Director General/Director General for Gender Equality and Diversity, the position of Central Level Director/Director of Research and Policy for Equality, the position of Central Level Director/Director of Permanent Education and Training in Gender and Diversity Perspective, and the position of Head of Department at the Level Central / Head of the Administrative Department.
