DHL will manage logistics for Fujifilm’s health and technology zones in the Iberian Peninsula

DHL will manage logistics for Fujifilm’s health and technology zones in the Iberian Peninsula

DHL Supply Chain announces a framework agreement with Fujifilm Iberia in the areas of healthcare and technology.

Madrid. This contract involves the management of more than 3,750 Fujifilm references, including large medical devices from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) systems, which represent a high level of complexity in terms of handling and transportation.

To manage logistics, Fujifilm and DHL Supply Chain have agreed to make a significant investment, which will enable the facilities to meet different product storage and handling specifications.

Within the operation, in addition to the area dedicated to products handled at room temperature, there is an area specifically designed for handling and storing goods at a controlled temperature between 2°C and 8°C, and in some cases, down to -20°C. The warehouse will provide a distribution service for Fujifilm materials in Spain and Portugal, thus dedicating more than 7,200 square meters to the company, representing more than 20% of the entire logistics center.

Strengthening cooperation

This new operation strengthens the existing relationship between the two companies in Europe, where they have been cooperating for more than 8 years at the warehouse in Dreieich, Germany, where DHL Supply Chain stores and distributes products for the healthcare sector.

As Pedro Mesquita, General Manager of Fujifilm in Spain and Portugal, explains, “The agreement with DHL confirms to us the assistance of the global logistics giant, which will assist us in a series of operations carried out in several locations. Furthermore, thanks to its innovative facilities and systems, integrated with our Fujifilm transport management system, it will be easier to handle fragile equipment and bulky materials, as well as optimizing transport lines and tracking to provide a quick response to any incident that may occur. Improving the supply experience for our customers, which is a fundamental pillar for the implementation of our growth strategy.
