Diego Alonso In his first training sessions in Seville, he showed the intensity he expects from his team, even giving specific instructions to Spanish defender Sergio Ramos.
The Uruguayan coach repeatedly called for strength, speed, and decisiveness when pressing and stealing the ball in Wednesday’s session.
In the pictures published by El Chiringuito TV, the hurricane was seen constantly screaming and confirming that its intensity could not decrease.
“I let them recover, but I need speed to press; a player who goes for three quarters is useless for me. I want to bite,” he said.
At one point, Alonso approached Ramos, 37, and told him he had to catch his breath quickly to resume intense pressing in the next minute: “Sergio, recover in time to be able to run. If not, you won’t get there.”
The former Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain player accepted his coach’s remark.
Alonso will play his first match at the helm of the Andalusian team, facing Real Madrid on Saturday, October 21, at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, in the tenth round of the Spanish League.
