Quinn (Malaga) – November 6 (Europa Press) –
Doctors of the Quin Health Center gathered on Monday at the access door of the primary care center in Quin (Málaga) to protest against the verbal assault the doctor suffered last week, as well as to show their support for the colleague.
The Malaga Doctors’ Syndicate (SMM), which called for this gathering, indicates that the events occurred last Monday, October 30, at around nine in the morning, when a patient came to the emergency room of the health center in the municipality of Malaga. He asked the doctor to prescribe the medication he usually takes. The doctor was unable to prescribe treatment, because she was told that only the family doctor should do it.
In response to the refusal, the patient’s reaction was to scream and insult the doctor who treated him, in addition to threatening another colleague who came to help him.
The SMM movement criticizes these events and demands “finally” the Ministry of Health of the Government of Andalusia to appoint security guards in health centers that have 24-hour emergencies in the province of Malaga, as well as to install surveillance cameras and provide the centers with all necessary measures to eliminate this dangerous situation that is spreading. Increasingly in the health sector.
Finally, the medical union also points out that since the Covid pandemic, the Andalusian Health Service has not invested in safety measures for its workers.
