A few days before the last Apple developer event, in June, traces appeared A new operating system from the company called “homeOS”. Everyone considered that it would be revealed at WWDC21, but that did not happen in the end and the topic was not discussed again. Now this ‘homeOS’ appeared again briefly in a job posting company.
Home automation may deserve its own operating system
Job offer where homeOS is mentioned Engineer position in San DiegoThe city where Apple has offices. The company was looking for a programmer to work with the Apple Music team, but was involved in the development of several embedded systems. The only trace left from that interview is Tweet From student programming Julian Schiavo:

As for MacRumors posted That new flag for the new OS, Apple again pulled that signal To replace “homeOS” with “HomePod”. That this happening twice is already a serious sign that they in Cupertino are preparing what may be the sixth member of their quintile: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS.
Something like this can Optimizing the Apple Home app, where all HomeKit accessories and HomePod speakers are configured and managed. The platform hasn’t changed much during the latest major iOS updates, so there’s plenty of room for improvement.
Another possibility is that “homeOS” is simply the code name for a project that is not an operating system, and is used internally at Apple for something different they prepare. Whatever it is, we can probably see it at the Annual Developers Conference in June 2022.
