The awards celebrating the best of American television will be handed out this weekend.

HBO and HBO Max stand out with a total of 127 nominations, spread across 17 original programs, more than any other channel or platform. This will be the 21st time in history that HBO has established itself as the brand with the most nominations at the Emmy Awards, the most coveted award in series around the world.

2024 Emmy Nominations
This record includes 27 nominations for the final season of Succession, the most nominated series of the year, making history with three nominations in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series category. Additionally, new series The Last of Us stands out with 24 nominations in major categories, and The White Lotus breaks its own record and sweeps the Best Actor and Supporting Actress categories with nine nominations.
The House of the Dragon is a prequel to the famous universe created by George R.R. Martin and takes place approximately 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. This series opened the way to know the intimate relationship between the Targaryen family. Furthermore, it invites us to fully explore the origins of Daenerys Targaryen's family, revealing important details about its history. The production has eight nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series.

Moonage Daydream, the documentary based on the life of David Bowie, also received several nominations. Guided by the voice of Starman himself, Academy Award-nominated director Brett Morgen delivers an immersive cinematic experience about the mysterious legacy of the singer, one of the most prolific and influential artists of recent times. Its five nominations include Best Directing for a Documentary or Nonfiction Program and Best Screenplay for a Nonfiction Program.
