Most people are in gift buying mode, or at least starting to think about it, and no one likes to spend more than necessary.
Going shopping without a plan can be very expensive, but the good news is that technology allows us to find discounts even before going to the stores. So take note, to save as much as possible.
It’s already the holiday season, and if you haven’t started your gift shopping, you may be feeling some pressure to get what you need at a good price.
“I have a job, and I do well, like all Americans, from paycheck to paycheck. But you always do what you can for the children. Christmas is important for them,” said consumer Jorge Alvarez.
Many stores have been competing to attract consumers by offering great offers since last September, but the discounts continue.
“There are different offers every week, and if you have the target app, you can always see it in advance. What offers come in each week,” said Andy Acevedo, Customer Service.
If what you want is to find specific gifts, at good prices, Google offers several ways to speed up your search, with a list of the 100 most requested gifts. If you type “store offers” into the Google page, you will find offers, promotions and discounts on many product categories.
“So you’ll quickly be able to compare prices. You’ll see if it’s available in a store near you or if you’re going to buy it from an online store, what the shipping cost will be to get to your door,” said Google spokesman Jesús Garcia.
Another tool is Chrome Price Tracker, which will allow you to track a product to find or wait for the best price. But it requires using your Google account to access the tool.
“So, we’re going to facilitate a way to track the price and get an alert when the price of that gift drops,” Garcia said.
If you find a good price for the product you want, request a “price match” at stores that offer it. Do this if you find the product cheaper at other stores.
With a large percentage of people shopping online, and wanting to get the product quickly, many retailers offer the opportunity to pick up the product in-store or outside, with curbside pickup, so you don’t have to go in and deal with crowds.
“If you like, you can search right here in your store, and if not, you can access your cart and check out your purchases for convenience. Let it be what you bought,” said Andy Acevedo.
Although it is worth noting that more than half of consumers this year say that they will not be able to buy many gifts due to inflation, according to a survey conducted by Nerd Wallet, it is advisable for them to follow the recommendation, a consumer.
“Right now is hard. I think for everyone, I feel like you should be with your family and feel the love more than the gifts,” Nancy Leyva plans to give love this Christmas.
Ms. Leyva is right, being with family is what really matters, but if you want and can afford some small gifts, make sure you pay the best price available for them, making the technology work to your advantage.
