The Colombian finished seventh at Spa-Francorchamps and scored again after three races. Peruvian Matias Zagazeta was 20th and Dino Bejanovic was the winner.
Sebastian Montoya arrived at Spa-Francorchamps having added just five points in the last six events. Of the six dates in Europe, the Colombian finished four without reaching the finish zone in either competition (Monaco, Barcelona, Spielberg and Budapest). Their poor ratings were mortgaged each weekend, beyond the return in the race, which was not enough to reach the finish zone. But the ribbons must be cut and The Colombian achieved this in Belgium, where the ninth and penultimate event is being held, by finishing seventh in the sprint race.
The track started out muddy with rain and Montoya had to start ninth after finishing fourth in qualifying (his best position this year). With the top tens to his name, Montoya had to start from the fifth row. He quickly moved up and took sixth place after passing Luke Browning, A member of the Williams development programme. He stayed there until the end of the race, but the final lap was a huge mess, with Montoya battling for fourth place with Tramont, Santiago Ramos, Browning and Sami Maktounev.
The Colombian had the worst part and dropped to eighth place, but After a while, he moved up one place after a 30-second penalty was given to Mektoniv for exceeding the track limits. (The Frenchman went straight to 28th place.) Thus, Juan Pablo’s son has four points, just one less than he has scored in the last six weekends of this category. And the best is yet to come, because this Sunday he will start fourth in the longest competition that offers the most units.
For this part, Peruvian Matias Zagazeta stayed on the track in a very contact-prone area and finished 20th.Swede Dino Beganovic, a member of the Ferrari Academy, was the winner, along with championship leader Gabriele Mini. Mexican Noel Leon completed the podium.
