14 students from the University of Otago in New Zealand will spend the month of July excavating in Mérida, particularly in the area of the Roman wall at the back of the Roman amphitheater, thanks to a research grant. program of that university.
The initiative is the result of a joint agreement between the Consortium of Monumental City of Merida and the University of Otago. Daniel Osland, Professor of Classics, is a Senior Lecturer in Classics in the School of Art at this university centre.
