Tornado Cash government token holders will soon regain control of the protocol’s operations, thanks to an unexpected suggestion made by the attacker.. This progression allows the community to regain power and steer the protocol toward recovery and improved security measures.
On May 26th The proposal to return control to token holders to the original governance of Tornado Cash has been successfully approved. A total of 517,000 tokens voted in favor of the proposal, and no one was against. This decision quickly puts an end to the governance hijacking that fortunately did not affect the protocol itself, but did result in the theft of specific governance tokens.

Taking advantage of this significant voting power, they passed other proposals and eventually gained control of previously acquired governance tokens. Their tactics allowed them to manipulate the government structure, shifting power in their favour.
