Head of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Central University Hospital of Asturias (HUCA), Jacobo Silva, opened the Graduate Health and Wellbeing Week on Monday with an educational conference on heart-healthy habits in front of a large audience at the Casa de la Culture.
This is how the event was inaugurated, which comes with an intense program of activities that will culminate next Sunday, the eleventh, in the Health and Well-Being Fair, which will take place in Areba Park in the morning, with the help of 35 exhibitors, workshops and “information pills”.
Moscones residents will be able to enjoy this Tuesday an open day at the municipal pool and gym, until 2:00 p.m. In the afternoon, at the Casa de Cultura, clinical psychologist Juan Fernandez gave a lecture entitled “How to Overcome a Duel”. The appointment is at 7:00 pm. On Wednesday, Ecopsychology Facilitator Angela Lavilla developed the 12:00 “Connecting with Nature Through Beauty” activity with relaxation exercises on Paseo del Rio.

On the eighth day, like every Thursday, there will be a health route departing at 10:00 am from the Abajo kiosk. They will visit Raneses, Camin del Conde Kuala, Quito, La Espina, La Granja and Grado. In the afternoon, at 7:00 p.m., the public will be able to discover the mandala with the Research and Training Center in Permaculture, Bioconstruction and Autonomy of Asturias.
The week of health and well-being continues on Friday with a workshop on first aid at the headquarters of the Spanish Red Cross, scheduled for 12 noon, and the conference “Sleep problems and emotional well-being. A preventive approach” by psychologists, Dolores Mendez and Hugo Martinez. On Saturday there will be Nordic Walking for Beginners with monitor specialist, Laura Mota, in Abajo Park from 11:00 a.m. and a “Communicating with Nature, Dipping in the Woods” talk, 12:00 p.m., with Angela Lavella at Home Culture.
Health and Wellness Week ends on Sunday with the fair, which in the event of rain will move to El Frontón from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. In addition to the exhibitors, there will be a live cooking fair, guided tours, meditation and sports, among others, plus the associations will be carrying out informational discs on health issues throughout the morning.
