Health and medicine shortages are outstanding priorities in Mexico – El Sol de México

We have started the year and there is no doubt that the challenges continue, but above all the empty spaces of needs that Mexicans have today.

Health will always remain a priority. We have lived with it for several years as we suffer from the Covid-19 epidemic that has claimed the lives of millions around the world, which has greatly worried many people. Immediately after that, the focus was on detecting and giving more visibility to mental health, even within the framework of this week. Which was World Anti-Depression Day.

Undoubtedly, this situation not only stimulated interest and priority in health, but also made mental health visible, leading to its approval at many local conferences and the allocation of special attention to it. What is worrying is that, without a doubt, although this is the right and duty of all governments, it is clear that the current situation has generated more incidents than solutions.

Suffice it to mention some facts: the agreement was concluded with the states where everyone had to eventually reach the centralization of the federation to purchase and distribute medicines, and then their supply began to be in short supply, and the theft of medicines was even reported. This need became clear and it came to the mind of the federal government to create a super pharmacy, and this, I repeat, happened, because it does not solve the problem, and this is where the issue of medicines has raised more problems by neglecting the population and violating their rights, but also in demonstrating the resulting corruption. This need has been reported by several entities already and in other countries it has been worse.

The obvious question here is: When will they stop the incidents and lack of transparency and take effective measures to solve the major health problem that is shaking our country today?

Health is a right, but no one guarantees it. In Mexico we must put the real needs of our country first and health is the same: continuing with the same government is undoubtedly a huge risk to continue in the same way or worse. This year they are determining many positions, including the presidency. Republic, analyzing this data is up to each one of us, which is why I think we should think about it and think about it well.
