Health announces a day without deaths from COVID-19

The Ministry of Health announced that on the last day of 2021 there were no coronavirus-related deaths in the country. The announcement came via the government agency’s social networks.

And the health authorities confirm, according to the update that was made at dawn yesterday, that since March 2020, 3,824 deaths from the Covid-19 virus have been recorded, and 7113 cases are still active in the country.

With regard to doses of vaccines given in El Salvador, health recorded 9553,791 doses, after 9531,117 doses were applied to Salvadorans and 22,674 to foreigners.

In total, El Salvador has already received a total of 15,604,580 doses after last December 30, on social networks, the arrival of the 52nd batch of anticoid-19 vaccines was announced.

On that date, the country received 208,260 doses of the vaccine, which is manufactured by the pharmaceutical company Pfizer.

Medical union members warned, mid-November, of the possibility of a fourth wave of COVID-19 infections that could occur in the coming weeks, after Christmas and year-end celebrations.
