In the framework of joint and continuous work that has been implemented since the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic with each of the 24 jurisdictions, a team from the National Directorate of Epidemiology and Strategic Information of the National Ministry of Health visited Salta County to work with local teams in assessing the epidemiological situation and defining vaccination strategies and epidemiological surveillance.

During the trip, which took place from October 25-29, the national teams were in the city of Salta and in the cities of Tartagal, Santa Rosa del Aguaray, Salvador Mazza, Embarcación, Oran, Aguas Blancas and Bichanal.

Meetings with local authorities, health teams, vaccinators, epidemiologists and health agents focused on assessing the current epidemiological situation and identifying strategies in order to complete vaccination schedules, advance the vaccination of children under 18 years of age, and control outbreaks due to the delta variable, which are being recorded across the region, and develop strategies to coordinate epidemiological surveillance before opening the Yacuíba-Salvador Maza border crossing, which links Argentina with Bolivia.
