Swedish fashion label H&M Move has teamed up with carbon-capture company LanzaTech to produce clothing made partially from recycled emissions and infused with the brand’s DryMove technology, a proprietary material that wicks moisture away from the skin keeping wearers comfortable and dry on the go. the movement.
The women’s three-piece version of the H&M Move includes a jumpsuit, shirt and pair of socks, made in part of LanzaTech CarbonSmart polyester with a DryMove finish. The elegant all-black garment is inspired by the contemporary “luxury” movement and features contrast stitching and creative cuts, H&M Move explains in a statement.
Using three steps, LanzaTech captures carbon emissions from steel mills, traps them in bioreactors, and turns them into the same building blocks that traditional polyester is made of. This revolutionary solution helps reduce pollution and limits the use of virgin fossil resources needed to make new products.
“In collaboration with LanzaTech, we are pleased to offer our customers a capsule collection made with CarbonSmart polyester, an innovative material that uses redirected carbon emissions. This partnership enables H&M Move to explore innovative materials and contribute to the creation of more sustainable sportswear of the future,” said Simon Brown, CEO H&M Move.
“Innovations in today’s textile industry focus on sustainability for a better world. We’re proud to partner with H&M Move on this edition that reflects ways to rethink how our clothes are made and enjoyed,” said Jennifer Holmgren, CEO of LanzaTech.
