In a press conference, from the Council of Ministers Hall, the Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction with the comprehensive nature of the final declaration of the meeting, which addressed the basic areas aimed at enhancing development and cooperation among the 33 member states.
In this regard, he highlighted the potential impact and commitment of each country to common goals.
Gonsalves encouraged his countrymen to be proud of their role as hosts and ambassadors, demonstrating the warmth and hospitality that characterize Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, while noting his optimism about future cooperation and the results that will emerge from the CELAC Declaration.
Another poignant moment during the session was the Honduran delegation's tribute to the national hero of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Joseph Chattoyer, who was praised by the President.
In addition to this, the ceremony was held at the Dorsetshire Hill Obelisk, which contains the Chateauer Monument and his resting place.
After this historic event, Gonsalves urged all Vincentians to maintain the cleanliness, warmth and welcoming spirit of the nation, which is preparing to host various activities, including the next Cricket World Cup next June.
