Marseille (France), August 8 (EFE).- The Nagra 17 class competition for Paris 2024 ended this Thursday with the ‘Medal Race’, which was postponed on Wednesday due to a lack of wind, and the Italians Ruggero reached the gold. Tita and Caterina Panti, silver went to Argentina’s Mateo Majdalani and Eugenia Bosco, and bronze to New Zealand’s Micah Wilkinson and Erica Dawson.
The Italians, the Olympic champions at Tokyo 2020, achieved the medal, firmly entrenched in first place with 27 points overall and assured of silver ahead of the medal regatta.
In second place, with 41 points, are Argentina’s Mateo Majdalani and Eugenia Bosco, and Britain’s John Kimson and Anna Burnett (47) with six more, the same as New Zealanders in fourth place.
Tida and Bendy finished second to the medal won by Frenchmen Tim Morniak and Lou Berthomiev, giving them their second consecutive Olympic title.
The Argentine boat, for its part, devoted itself to controlling the situation, so that silver did not escape, for which it took seventh place, while New Zealand won the fight for bronze, which took place from Great Britain. Fourth overall.
The Brazilian boat of Joao Simsen and Marina Arndt finished third in the medal race, but did not receive a diploma as it finished ninth overall. EFE
