At the meeting, China’s Chief Justice Zhang Jun stressed the importance his government places on building the rule of law and equal access to justice.
The judge referred to the independence of the judiciary in the Asian giant, and highlighted the modernization process that the Chinese judicial system is going through, which contributes to reducing delays in justice and to the efficiency of handling cases.
For her part, the President of the Supreme Court of Justice of Nicaragua, Alba Luz Ramos, presented the structure of the judicial system of this Central American country as one of the four powers of the state, while describing the transformations promoted by the Sandinista government.
In this sense, he highlighted the actions of the executive branch led by President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo, while expanding access to justice, and consolidating the rule of law and legal order.
In the same way, he referred to the drafting and implementation of laws related to gender equality, combating violence against women and combating drug trafficking.
In addition, he referred to other regulations related to human trafficking and money laundering, the defense of national dignity and sovereignty, among other things that guarantee peace, justice and well-being for families in Nicaragua.
According to the memorandum, the two judges agreed that Managua and Beijing organized their judicial systems with the best interests of their people in mind.
They also agreed that the two countries share similar ideas on issues related to jurisprudence, defense of national sovereignty and territorial integrity, anti-imperialism and rejection of demands for hegemony, which strengthens the bonds of brotherhood.
