Newcastle salary depletion
Reforming Newcastle is not cheap for the new Saudi monarchy. In addition to investing €136 million in Isak, Botman, Targett and Pope as well as previous contracts with Guimaraes (42M), Wood (30M) or Trippier (14M), the exit chapter barely recorded €2.3 million in profit from Dubravka’s move to Manchester United.
Newcastle have only managed to get players at the end of their contract and with transfers, some of which have become a complete ‘salary drain’ from which they won’t get a good return. Eddie Howe gave his returns, but the club wasn’t able to secure a single sale deal, so at the end of the season, Hyde, Hendrik, Clark, Matty Longstaff and Watts’ agent will be back in charge. Except for the last two years (22), the others are already 27, 30 and 32, so they are players from whom further development is no longer expected.
Half the departure of renovated players before the arrival of the new property, which costs Newcastle £100,000 a week. This translates to an annual spending of 6,250,000 million euros for players who do not count as a coach.
