The Minister of Health and Social Services, Sara García Espada, inaugurated the new health centre in Logrosan, a 1,600 square metre building in which more than 3 million euros were invested. This centre serves more than 3,500 users of the health area, which consists of the cities of Logrosan and Canimeiro.

The advisor visited the new facilities that provide a suitable working environment for professionals, and spoke with them during her visit and thanked them for their efforts and cooperation.

Regarding the new facilities, which also stand out for their comfort for users, García Espada stated that it is “a very friendly environment, with a lot of light, with interior patios, large accessible spaces, and we hope that users will be able to take advantage of it, when they need it, in a pleasant way.”

The health centre consists of a care area, equipped with two general medicine consultations and one pediatric consultation; physiotherapy; radiology; public health area; continuing care and technology area; counselling and family planning centre (COPF); and administrative area.

The Continuous Care Point is located in the Logrosan Health Center and offers healthcare 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This attention to primary care emergencies is reinforced by the Medical Emergency Unit (UME 5.2) of 112 people, located in Canamero, which ensures attention to emerging diseases throughout the Las Viluercas area.

The new health centre becomes part of a group of centres that have a modern radiology unit and are not considered hospital complexes. Logrosan is the fifth health centre in the province of Cáceres to have this specialised care.

The health centre is developed on one floor, with internal courtyards providing great lighting to the complex. The building is entered through three different points: the main entrance to the consultation and physiotherapy area; continuing care; and an entrance for people and materials supply.

The interior plan, simple and functional, consists of 4 bodies connected by two corridors, one for ambulances and the other for personnel, giving each level its corresponding space.

The main uses are concentrated in the two central bodies, where almost all consultations are located. The first body will be dedicated to continuing care and the last to the physiotherapy unit; the fifth body is for staff use.
