Must Read

Low Roar singer and founder Ryan Karazega has passed away at the age of 40.

In a statement posted on social media, the Icelandic band, who rose to fame after appearing on the soundtrack to Death Stranding, explained that their “beautiful music and lyrics, sung with her beautiful voice, have impacted the lives of many people around the world, and we will continue to to do that.

“He was a good and beautiful soul, and our worlds are shattered by his loss. Let us honor his memory with his art and make him always in his songs.”

“Low Roar’s sixth album is already on its way and will be completed and released when it’s ready. Please respect his family’s privacy at this very difficult time.”

One of their songs, and the group themselves, gained notable popularity in 2016 after appearing in the trailer for Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima’s first game after his departure from Konami.

Kojima, who explained that he discovered the group during a trip to Reykjavik, ended up including eighteen Low Roar songs in Death Stranding, an accompaniment to other groups such as Apocalyptica, Chvrches, or Silent Poets.

Rest in peace.
