The Ministry of Health, Social Development and Sports, through the Directorate of Motherhood and Childhood, is committed to the World Week of Maternal Mental Health, to highlight the importance of the problem and raise awareness among families.
“People who are pregnant tend to develop mood and anxiety disorders due to changes in daily life such as sleep habits, work or family planning. This phase involves a new role and new tasks that have a physical and mental impact on the parents,” explained Territory Maternity and Childhood Director Monica Rinaldi.
“In the vast majority of maternity hospitals in our county, there is a highly trained perinatal mental health team to resolve these situations, and it is important that families and health teams, whether in obstetrics or pediatrics, can recognize mood disorders in the pregnant woman and the puerperium. To provide therapeutic accompaniment at the right time, ”the professional highlighted.
