The building that will house the new Molina Este Health Center will have an area of 6,600 square meters, where a total of 15 outpatient clinics of the hospital’s specialties will also be installed, according to regional government sources in a statement.

The Minister of Health, Juan José Pederino, accompanied by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, José Ángel Alfonso, visited the state of construction work for this new health infrastructure, in which approximately 10 million euros will be invested. It is scheduled to come into operation in 2026.

The commissioning of the municipality’s third health center will allow primary care to be provided to 29,000 users in the Molina Este Basic Health Area, including 4,300 children’s health cards.

The Regional Health Chief highlighted that the facility, which is in the construction phase of the structure, will have a basement, ground floor and first floor, which “will allow the reorganization of the spaces of the two existing municipal health centers, which will allow the reorganization of the spaces of the two existing municipal health centers”. We see that the number of people they provide care to will decrease, which will improve the quality of health care and the performance of professionals.

The specialized hospital center will serve all users of the municipality and its area of influence such as Alguazas, Archena, Fortuna, Ciote and Lorque, who will therefore avoid traveling to the outpatient clinics of the reference hospital, Morales Meseguer. In total, it will serve approximately 140,000 inhabitants.

As for specialties, it is planned to integrate cardiology, surgery, dermatology, ophthalmology and urology in the first phase, although new specialties may be added to the centre’s service portfolio once it launches in March.

For this reason, its design has been planned to include reserve spaces to respond to both possible increases in population and new specialties that may be incorporated. “The consultations will be equipped with the most advanced diagnostic means, so that many of these tests can be performed in Molina de Segura for greater comfort for patients,” stressed Pederino.

10 Family Medicine Consultations

The new health centre will be equipped with 10 family medicine consultations, eight nursing consultations, four treatment, extraction and special technology rooms, a multi-purpose room, three pediatric consultations, two pediatric nursing rooms, and a pediatric observation room.

In addition, it will include a large women’s care section, which includes midwife and gynecologist consultations, a gynecology examination room, and a multi-purpose room. The center’s facilities will be completed by an oral unit that includes two dentist and two dental hygienist consultations, in addition to a room equipped with bone imaging equipment.

Specialized consultations

The hospital’s consultation area will include 15 spaces for care and examination rooms for various specialties such as cardiology, surgery, dermatology, ophthalmology and urology, in addition to reserve spaces for other specialties that may be added.

The consultations will be of high precision, as they will be equipped with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic technologies. In this way, trips to the reference hospital will be avoided for all users of Molina de Segura and the surrounding areas.
