Morales gives ‘horrific’ details about the cause of his son’s death

In order to end the speculation surrounding his son’s death, Mexican boxer Eric Morales revealed that his son’s death was due to a cardiac arrest he suffered at home on December 1.

“I want to talk to you briefly about what happened, because it’s something I haven’t discussed and I’d like you to stop speculating, you haven’t speculated, well, very few people have speculated, exactly what happened.

“Unfortunately, my son was at home, and he spoke to his mother at about 3 or 4 in the afternoon, and he came down from his room and said to his mother ‘I’m going to Oxxo, I’m going for coffee, do you want something?’ He said, ‘Bring me some toilet paper and some other things.’

He went to Oxxo, came home and forgot the toilet paper. He gave her coffee, went back to Oxxo, and went, and bought paper and other things. He came home and said “I’ll be in my room,” he explained.

The Terrible spoke in detail about the moment his family found Jose Fernando Morales, 23, dead.

“At eight or nine in the evening my eldest son, Angel, was about to have dinner, and he went to get Fernando to dinner and found him already in a rough and stiff state, which means that he had already gone down for a while and trouble had come.

“The truth was easy, he was in his bed, face down, he pressed himself and he was definitely having a fatal heart attack. Nothing happened to him, he was stiff and squeezing and that’s what happened to him. Luckily at home, in his bed, it was something he didn’t notice. One quickly,” he said on the Un Round More Podcast.

Morales, who had postponed an exhibition fight with Orlando “Seri” Salido due to the death of his son, stated that Fernando dreamed of being a boxer, despite his father’s disapproval.

“Since life must go on, I’m calm, because I think my son was a good boy, I swear, I was thinking these days if something bad could be done or said, negative things, and the truth is I did not find one. He was a happy boy. So, somewhere he wants to be a boxer, I was fighting for him, because I didn’t want him to be a boxer, I wanted him to study.

“I hosted him for a while in Aguascalientes to work with some Cubans, then I brought him to Mexico City, I sent him to Azerbaijan to learn boxing and then he came to Tijuana, and we decided he wasn’t going to fight and we had that little topic playing out.”
