During the same period, more than 3,000 cases of corruption, economic crimes and smuggling were uncovered, with more than 4,900 suspects, said Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Public Security Colonel General Tran Quoc Tu.
Announcing the results of the police force’s work during the first six months of 2024, the senior officer highlighted that they had clarified more than 22,000 matters related to social order violators, at a rate of 78.36 percent, which is higher than the target set by the National Assembly (parliament).
He stressed that the police had effectively countered the plots and activities of hostile forces and maintained security in key areas as well as at thousands of important events and international delegations visiting the country.
